NelsonMark-obitMark R. Nelson, 57, passed away on August 30, 2012 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mark was born in Toledo, Ohio on December 23, 1954 to Doris and Homer Nelson.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Bill (Ann) Nelson, of Florida and Keith (Cathy) Nelson.
His other siblings include Doug (Cathy) Nelson, Bowling Green, Jeff (Sue) Nelson, Perrysburg, and Diane (Bob) Fox, of Florida. Mark was married for 29 years to his best friend and wife, Mary (Aring) Nelson. They have one son, Zachary.
Mark served four years in the Army as a Military Policeman.
He was a patrolman for the Bowling Green Police Department. He also was a patrolman in Pemberville and finished his career as a Park Ranger for the Wood County Parks District.

Al was a 1974 graduate of Bowling Green High School. He was a member of Blessed John XXIII in Perrysburg, Ohio.
Al worked for the Kroger Grocery Store in Bowling Green for 37 years until he retired.
Al was an “Avid Bowler” and was a member of the Bowling Dudes Bowling Team where his team took great pride as they were in the Guinness Book of World Records for the most consecutive losses a bowling team could have.
Al was a true family man and enjoyed spending time with his family especially his two girls who were his life.
Al was born in Bowling Green, Ohio to Jose Daniel Cano and Elisa P. (Pacheco) Cano. He married Sue (Nekoloff) Cano on October 15, 1988 in North Royalton, Ohio, and she survives in Haskins, Ohio.

KALIDA – Rose Mary Clementz, 86, of Kalida, died at 11:55 a.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2012 surrounded by her family, following a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer’s.
She was born February 13, 1926 in Kalida to the late Frank and Mary (Miller) Wehri. On August 7, 1948, she married Joseph V. Clementz. He died July 20, 1993.
Surviving are seven children: Michael (Peggy Nienberg) Clementz of Ottawa, Thomas (Mary Ann) Clementz of Cloverdale, Ruth (Dale) Schroeder of Bowling Green, Karen (Ron) Steffan of Leipsic, William (Sue) Clementz of Kalida, Angela Clementz of Kalida and Kathleen (Ron) Schmiedebusch of Glandorf; 16 grandchildren, including Jeff (Kathleen) Schroeder Hale, Eric (Jenna) Schroeder and Timothy (Alyssa) Schroeder;14 great-grandchildren; one brother: Hubert (Joyce) Wehri of Kalida; four sisters: Lucille Schroeder of Glandorf, Agnes Ulm of Delphos, Rita Jean (Norbert) Boecker of Ottoville, Joan (Richard) Seimet of Ottawa.

Margaret was born on November 6, 1935 to Stanley and Mary (Cooper) Torrence in Belle Center, Ohio. She married Paul Nabors on December 22, 1956 in Belle Center. They were happily married for 54 years.
Margaret graduated from Christ Hospital School of Nursing in Cincinnati, as a Registered Nurse. She loved being a nurse and worked at various hospitals throughout her career. She also served as Director of Nursing at the LPN Health Care Facility in Newark, Ohio.
Margaret was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Pemberville, Ohio, and a former member of First Lutheran Church in Bellefontaine, Ohio.
She is survived by her sons: Rick (Lynda) Nabors of Newark, Ohio, Paul (Laura) Nabors of Vermilion, Ohio and Ron (Shannon) Nabors of Pemberville, Ohio, eight grandchildren: Kristin, Matt (Krystal), Kelsey, Corey, Tori, Adam, Bethany, and Haley Nabors, great-grandson: Dominic, sisters: Norma McMillan of Belle Center, Ohio, Donna Calvin of Bellefontaine, Ohio and brother: Earl (Dee) Torrence of Belle Center, Ohio, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Puckett-Ellie-obitEleanor “Ellie” Jean Grover Puckett of Beaumont died on August 24, 2012, in Round Rock.
She was born February 28, 1928, in Toledo, Ohio, to Ruth and Nelson Grover. She received a Christian Baptism on March 23, 1930. Ellie grew up in Bowling Green, Ohio, where she attended school.
She was as a cheerleader, member of the National Honor Society, and other social organizations, and graduated from Bowling Green High School with honors in 1946. Ellie graduated from Bowling Green State University (BGSU) in 1950 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Clothing and Textiles. She was a member of Delta Gamma in college and maintained membership in alumnae groups in later years. After graduating, she moved to Columbus, Ohio, where she worked at F&R Lazarus. Ellie returned to BGSU a number of years later to complete her certification in elementary education.
Ellie met Leonard Puckett, Jr. at F&R Lazarus; they married in 1962 and relocated to Dallas, before settling in Beaumont, in 1972. She worked as an elementary substitute teacher with the Beaumont Independent School District for many years.

Marie-Haas-obitMarie A. Haas passed away on August 31, 2012 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Lake Oswego, Oregon. She was 95.
Marie was born on September 17, 1916 in Webster Township, Ohio, the youngest of nine children of Fred and Augusta Ernsthausen of Luckey, Ohio. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Webster High School in 1934. Marie married George Haas of Perrysburg, Ohio in 1942; they had four children.
After George’s death in 1953, Marie worked the farm and raised her children on Lime City Road in Perrysburg, Ohio. She also worked as a waitress, as a cafeteria worker at Penta County and in the Goodyear factory in Luckey, Ohio. She put all her children through college. She never remarried.
Although heartbroken by the loss of her husband and sons before her, Marie lived a long and full life. She was beloved for her courage and compassion not only by her family but by everyone who met her. Many of her nieces and nephews knew her as “Aunt Bob”.

At the end of her long, hard battle with cancer she was surrounded by family in Stony Ridge when the angels wafted her home. While she has moved on to a better place, we will forever miss her loving arms, her infectious laugh, and her radiant presence.
Lucy was a graduate of Devilbiss High School in Toledo and proudly served three years with the U.S. Army in Germany. She enjoyed working at Hinkle Manufacturing near Perrysburg, OH, the Monroe Humane Society and the Monroe Multi Sports Complex. At the sports complex she was known as “Zamboni Mom” for her fine Zamboni driving and caring nature.
Lucy was born on August 12, 1962 in Tecumseh, MI to Ralph and Donna (Burleson) Scarbrough. She married Michael Cosgrave on August 12, 1994 in Toledo, OH.

She was born on May 21, 1930, in Smithville, OH, to the late Paul S. and Camilla (Sprau) Blackburn. She married Ralph “Ray” Fuller in June of 1957, and he preceded her in death in April of 1974.
She is survived by a nephew, Steve Blackburn of TN.
Also preceding her in death were Gene, Kenneth, and Nevin.
Vivian and her husband started out in the construction and taxi cab businesses in Tiffin. In 1975, she moved to Florida and started a dog grooming shop. She then moved back to Findlay and started another dog grooming shop, which then sold and started another grooming shop in North Baltimore, having retired in 2000.

Charlotte (Jeffers) Scheub, 91, entered heaven August 30, 2012 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
Born May 9, 1921 to Ernest Jeffers and Alta (Keeler) Smith, she was a lifelong resident of Grand Rapids, Ohio. She was a friend to all in need, providing help and support to her family and to many others.
Charlotte loved to sew, quilt, garden, can, make jelly and pies. Children were a joy to her. She was affectionately known as Pie-Grandma to many of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved being outdoors and was fascinated by the shapes and colors of rocks and stones she found along rivers and streams, particularly her beloved Maumee River.
Charlotte was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Grand Rapids. As an early member of the Grand Rapids Emergency Medical Squad she served with her sons Jim and Nelson. She also had been a volunteer at St. Luke’s Hospital, a member of the Gideon Auxiliary, and an officer in the First Presbyterian Church. She loved to travel and is now on her journey to continue serving her Lord.

He was born on October 9, 1956 in Bowling Green, OH to Leon and Marcena (Beeker) Bockbrader. Brad married Shari Eilert on June 20, 1980 in Luckey, OH and she survives.
He was a mechanic for United Parcels Service, Perrysburg, OH for 23 years. His memberships included: Salem Grace United Lutheran Church, Pemberville, OH, where he served on the church vestry and Teamsters Local #20. He was a former volunteer fireman on the Pemberville Fire Department, former little league coach and was one of the founding fathers of the Eagle Hockey Club.
In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, gardening and most of all watching his children’s activities and sporting events. Brad enjoyed talking to people and no one was ever a stranger to him.
