Along with his wife Barb, Keith is survived by his daughters: Shannon Wilhelm and Becci Moindi, of Bowling Green, Ohio; Jamie (John) Pozy, of Lambertville, Michigan; his son Adam (Tracie) Wilhelm, of Grand Rapids, Ohio; six grandchildren: Jacob, Marie, Matthew, Summer, Amber and Khloi; sisters: Judy (Larry) Ickes and Beth (Ken) Grunden; brothers: Gary Wilhelm and Roger Wilhelm; and his close and loyal friend, Kurt Jump. Along with his parents, Keith was preceded in death by a sister: Linda Wilhelm.

Sharp-Stella-obitStella A. Sharp, 96, of Jerry City and formerly of Portsmouth, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at 6:40 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2014 at Briar Hill Health Campus.
She was born in Johnstown, PA on September 10, 1917 to the late George and Mabel (Reiman) Livingstone. On September 3, 1937, she married Joseph Cover Sharp and he preceded her in death on May 24, 2002.
Stella is survived by her daughter, Sally Eggleston of Gahanna, Ohio and son, Joel (Norma-deceased) Sharp of San Angelo, TX. She is also survived by her three grandchildren: Tracey (Steven) Pritts of Cygnet, Todd (Rose) Weisbarth of Columbus, OH, Whitney Good of Midland, TX; and eight great-grandchildren: Casey, Taylor and Joseph Pritts, Michael and Bryan Joe Weisbarth, Austin (Lacey), Carson and Sydney Good; niece, Carol Livingstone; nephew, Richard Warner; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was born on June 18, 1925 in Raton, New Mexico to Ervis and Nettie (Bach) Mason. On July 8, 1949 she married Homer G. Ehmke in Toledo, OH and he preceded her in death on November 8, 2005.
She was a former bus driver for the Gibsonburg School District.
Mary was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Latcha, OH and enjoyed going to the YMCA in Oregon.
Mary is survived by her daughter: Bonnie (Chuck) Bach of Northwood, OH, son: Donald (Dana) Ehmke of Flagstaff, AZ, grandchildren: Scott Ehmke, Julie (Carl) Brainard, Jeff (Wendy) Bach, Dave Bach and great grandchildren: Jenna and Alyssa.

Erford-Gilford-obitGilford “Bus” Erford, 98, of North Baltimore, died at 8:25 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at the Riverview Health Care Campus in Oak Harbor.
He was born on March 3, 1916, in Hamler, Ohio to the late Peter A. and Effie (Bauhaus) Erford. He married Ina Mae King and she preceded him in death in 1981. He later married Thelma Campbell and she preceded him in death in 1985.
Bus is survived by his son, Bob Erford of North Baltimore; his daughter, Joyce Ann Mull of Port Clinton; his grandchildren: Brent Mull, Susan (Ron) LaWare, Amy (Rock) Sherer, Kristi (Brian) Anderson and Kelly Mull; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; his brother, Raymond Erford of Leipsic; his sister, Rita VonDerEmbse of Ottawa; his sister-in-law, Martha Erford of Ottawa; and his brother-in-law, William King of Bowling Green.
He was preceded in death by his brothers: Cletus Erford, Francis Charles Erford and Robert Erford; his sisters: Sarah Erford and Mary Josita Erford.

Melvin Towner, 71, of Whitehouse, OH passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014 at his residence.
Melvin was born in Jackson, MI to the late Helen and Earl Towner.
Melvin is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Susan; children: Tim (Sandy), Tom (Lynn), Terry (Jennifer); and seven grandchildren.
Melvin was a lifetime member of Progressive Fishing Association, honorary member of Toledo Bass Club, and a member of Adams Conservation Club. He loved fishing, hunting, NASCAR, and classic cars.
He worked for Toledo Scale, Teledyne, and J & S Industrial.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 4, 2014 from 2 to 8 p.m. at Wright-Habegger Funeral Home, 24084 W. Second St, Grand Rapids, OH 43522.

Clement-Donald-obitDonald M. “Don” Clement, age 78, of Tecumseh, passed away March 31, 2014 at home surrounded by his loved ones under the gentle care of Hospice of Lenawee.
Don was born March 19, 1936 in Detroit, MI, the son of Donald and Alice (Smith) Clement. He married Ovida “Weda” Mae Smotherman on April 22, 1955 in Corinth, MS. Sadly, she preceded him in death.
Don had worked as a Truck Driver for Bulk Transit for many years before his retirement in 2000.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, and was an avid outdoorsman. Don liked to tend to his yard and tinker in his garage working on his cars. He loved to take care of and spend time with his dogs and cats.
Don is survived by his partner, Norma Smith of Tecumseh; son, Donald L. Clement of Luckey, OH; daughters Diana L. (Joe) Bressler of Elmore, OH, Della L. Eicher of Ottawa, OH, Deborah K.

He was born on September 3, 1951 to the late Wayne and Frances (Sawyer) Foster in Findlay, Ohio. Hal married his loving wife of 24 years, Kathy Zahler, on July 8, 1989 in Bowling Green, Ohio.
Surviving Hal are his wife, Kathy; sons, Brian (Julie Kauffman and daughter Savannah) Foster of Risingsun, and Zach Foster of Wayne; daughters, Niki (Tony) Tyson of San Francisco, California and Jessie Foster of Bowling Green; best friend, Ron Frankforther (Fostoria); brother, Doug (Beverly) Foster of Bowling Green; sisters, Sally Copus of Mermill, Norma Sage of Bradner, Marge Miller of Bowling Green, Connie Reinhart of Mesa, Arizona; sisters-in-law Mary Foster of Bowling Green, and Pat Foster of Luckey; special nieces and nephews and special family dog, Petey.

Rosanna M. Groll, 76, of Napoleon, died Tuesday, April 2, 2014 at Toledo Hospital.
She was born August 20, 1937 in Bowling Green to the late William and Bertha (Snyder) Kerr. On November 3, 1973, she married Karl Groll at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon.
Rosanna was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she was very active in the mission society. She also helped tutor at St. Paul Lutheran School. She was a volunteer at the American Red Cross and helped her husband in the Lutheran Brotherhood and Lutheran Laymen’s League.
She is survived by her husband, Karl, and son, Randy Forbush, both of Napoleon; daughter, Ann Lymon, Mobile, Alabama; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Janet (Clarence) Kidd and Wilma (Charles) Ameling, both of Portage, Ohio.

Jack-Hannah-obit-picJack G. Hannah, age 66, of Walbridge, passed away April 2, 2014, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo.
He was born on April 24, 1947, in Toledo to Louis and Louise (Grueshaber) Hannah.
Jack proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the following medals; National Defense Service Medal, Small Arms Marksmanship Ribbon, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, and Air Force Good Conduct Medal.
On November 17, 1972, he married the former Ann Diefenthaler.
Jack was a Master Tool and Die Maker for Royal Tool. He was a 30-plus year member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.
Jack enjoyed all sports, but he loved rooting on his favorite teams, the Detroit Tigers, the Detroit Red Wings, and the Ohio State Buckeyes. In his spare time you could find him on the golf course or in his favorite La-Z-Boy chair.

Frances Riker, 89, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away Saturday April 5, 2014.
Frances was born in Wauseon, Ohio, to the late George and Sarah (Swartzen-druber) Geer. She married Karl Riker on April 21, 1957 and he preceded her in death on June 1, 1984.
Frances is survived by her children: Karen Harned of Tucson, Arizona, John (Carol) and George (Lesley) Riker of Bowling Green, Ohio; grandchildren: Carter Harned, Kimberly (Garrick) Walby, Robert (Stefani), Betsy, Kaitlin, Karlyn and Logan Riker; great-grandsons: Gabrial, William, Zachary and Callen; and a sister-in-law Boneita Ross and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by siblings: Ralph, Lloyd and Paul Geer and Bernice Doane.
Fran obtained her Bachelor’s in Education from Bowling Green State University in Social Studies. She then went on to teach in Bowling Green, Adrian and Lake Schools.
Fran and Karl enjoyed touring the country in their motor home, especially traveling out west.

Opal was born to the late Glenn and Regina Gamble, November 18, 1925 and was married to her high school sweetheart, the late Paul W. Adams, for 53 years at his passing in l999.
She is survived by five children: Ritch (Debbi) Adams, Bowling Green; Randy (Susan) Adams, Downingtown, PA; Cindy (Tim) Anderson, Oregon, Ohio; Kathy (Robert) Rahrig, Bowling Green; and Candice Adams, Tucson, AZ. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Jeff and Brian Rahrig, Lyndse Farrell, Erica and Brad Anderson, Josh and Christa Adams, Jason and Elizabeth Adams; and eight great-grandchildren: Adam, Payton, Cooper, Gavin, Ethan, Brooke, Scarlett and Casen.
Opal worked 20 years at the BGSU Athletic Department and retired in 1995. She then went to work in the office of ProHealth for several years.

Sharon M. (Poturalski) Benge of Bowling Green, OH, 62, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 7, 2014.
Sharon was born January 21, 1952 to Daniel and Christine Poturalski.
A wife to Joseph Benge (married January 30, 1970) and a mother to Amy (Mark) Bell, Dawn (Christopher) Gillard, and Todd (Shannon) Benge. Grandmother to seven wonderful grandchildren, Dakota Bell, Stephanie Bell, Gavin Gillard, Sydney Gillard, Tucker Benge, Violet Benge, and Cooper Benge.
Sharon loved spending time with her family and friends, playing bingo, and going to the casino. She also enjoyed entertaining friends and family during the holidays.
Prior to working for The Kennedy Organization for over 25 years, she was a stay at home mom who was involved in all of her children’s activities.
She is survived by husband Joseph Benge, three children, and seven grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, Christine Poturalski (Malak), sister Linda (Rick) Szymanowski, brother Allan (Kristin) Poturalski and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Gary Paul Maynard, 42, died Wednesday morning, April 9 at the Windsor Lane Health Care Center in Gibsonburg, OH.
Born on August 26, 1971 in Fremont, OH, he is a son of Gary Lee and Pamela Ann (Mull) Maynard.
Gary Paul graduated from Gibsonburg High School in 1989 and later received his boilermaker certificate in 2006. He worked as a boilermaker, Union Local 85 of Toledo, OH.
On May 16, 2011, he married Elizabeth Ann Bell at the Silver Rock Park in Gibsonburg.
Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, celebrating life and spending time with his nieces and nephews.

Dr.-Schmeltz-Obit-Picture-1Professor Emeritus Dr. William F. Schmeltz, 89, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away, Friday, April 11, 2014.
Bill was a loving husband and devoted and cherished father who raised four children, who then had twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He spent his life dedicated to education and the accounting field. He spent 30 years at BGSU as an accounting professor, a department chairman and Dean of the College of Business Administration, and retired as a Trustee Professor Emeritus. He obtained his Doctorate at Case Western Reserve. During his retirement a professorship was established in his name at BGSU to further excellence in the field of accounting education.
He was a worldwide traveler and among his travels he had extended stays in Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Sweden, Austria and China. In Puerto Rico he created and received accreditation for the MBA Program at the University there. In Sweden he was selected as one of thirty Deans of Business to spend three weeks in the Meet Modern Sweden Program. He was selected as part of a group of investment specialists to travel through China for 3 weeks meeting with bankers and investment professionals to further stimulate investment opportunities in China during the 1980s.

barron-alphonsus-obit-photoAlphonsus L. “Red” Barron, age 93 of Millbury, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014, surrounded by his loving family and special friends at Otterbein Portage Valley. He was born on May 24, 1920, in Erie, MI (the youngest of 11) to Eurick and Victoria Barron. He was preceded in death by his parents and 10 siblings.
Red proudly served as a Sgt. 1st class in the Army Air Corp, assigned to the South Pacific during WWII. He was blessed to have been able to participate in the Honor Flight of NWO in May 2012.
Red was a successful, self-made man, spending most of his career in the mortgage banking industry. He was a founding father of the Mortgage Bankers Association of Northwest Ohio, and served as its president for several years. The highlight of his career was to own and operate his family business “The Red Barron Agency”, for 5 years. In addition to mortgage and lending, Red was a realtor, appraiser, insurance agent, a lay minister, and an instructor in continuing education classes at UT, BGSU, and the Dana Corporation.
